1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or to make them work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to website owners. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, beacons, and server-side identifiers — collectively referred to in this policy as "cookies".
Cookies can be: - First-party cookies — set by the website you are visiting (gixodia.com). - Third-party cookies — set by a domain other than the one you are visiting. - Session cookies — deleted when you close your browser. - Persistent cookies — remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.
2. Our Cookie Philosophy
Gixodia operates on a principle of data minimisation. We do not run behavioural advertising, we do not sell data, and we do not use cross-site tracking. The cookies we set fall into at most two categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies — always active, no consent required under the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) because they are essential to deliver the service you request.
- Optional analytics cookies — only set after you give explicit opt-in consent via our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time.
We do not use marketing, advertising, profiling, or social media cookies.
3. Categories of Cookies We May Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies (always active)
These cookies are essential to provide you with services available through our website and to use some of its features, such as maintaining a secure session, load balancing, DDoS mitigation, and remembering your language or cookie-consent preferences. You cannot opt out of these cookies because the website cannot function properly without them.
Examples: - cf_clearance / __cf_bm — set by Cloudflare to distinguish legitimate visitors from bots and to mitigate Denial of Service attacks. Retention: up to 30 minutes (session bot management) or up to 1 year (clearance). - gixodia_locale — stores your selected language (en/es). Retention: 1 year. - gixodia_consent — stores your cookie consent choices so we do not ask you again on every page. Retention: 12 months. - gixodia_theme — stores your preferred color theme (light/dark). Retention: 1 year.
3.2 Functional Cookies (opt-in)
Functional cookies remember choices you make to provide enhanced functionality. We currently do not set any functional cookies beyond the strictly necessary ones listed above. If we add any, they will be listed here and will require your consent.
3.3 Analytics / Performance Cookies (opt-in)
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics by default. If we ever enable cookie-based analytics, consent will be required.
Potentially used (only if you opt in): - Cloudflare Web Analytics — privacy-first, cookieless by default. No personal data, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking. Operates without setting any cookies on your device.
3.4 Marketing / Advertising Cookies
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. Gixodia does not run retargeting, behavioural advertising, or ad networks on gixodia.com.
4. Third-Party Cookies
We try to keep third-party cookies to an absolute minimum. The only third parties whose cookies may be set through our website are:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, CDN, security, and bot mitigation. Cookies: cf_clearance, __cf_bm. Purpose: security and abuse prevention. Privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
- Cal.com (only if you open our booking widget) — appointment scheduling. May set session cookies on its own domain. Privacy policy: https://cal.com/privacy
We do not embed Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok, or Google Analytics trackers on our main pages.
5. Consent Management
When you visit gixodia.com for the first time (or after clearing your cookies), you will see a cookie banner allowing you to:
- Accept all — enables strictly necessary plus any optional analytics cookies.
- Reject all non-essential — only strictly necessary cookies are set.
- Customise — granular control over each category.
Your choice is stored in the gixodia_consent cookie and respected on subsequent visits. You can change your choice at any time by clicking the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of every page.
6. How to Manage or Disable Cookies in Your Browser
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Please remember that disabling strictly necessary cookies may impair the functionality of the website.
- Google Chrome — Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox — Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari (macOS) — Safari > Settings > Privacy
- Apple Safari (iOS) — Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security
- Microsoft Edge — Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies
- Brave — Settings > Shields / Privacy and security
- Opera — Settings > Advanced > Privacy & security > Site settings > Cookies
You can also use the "Incognito" or "Private Browsing" mode of your browser, which automatically clears cookies at the end of the session.
For mobile apps, use your device's system settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy; Android: Settings > Privacy).
7. Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We honor both browser-level privacy signals:
- Do Not Track (DNT) — if your browser sends a DNT:1 header, we will not set any optional analytics cookies and we will treat your visit as non-consented for non-essential processing.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC) — we recognize the GPC signal (https://globalprivacycontrol.org/) as a valid opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA, and as a withdrawal of consent under the GDPR. When a GPC signal is present, we suppress all non-essential cookies regardless of any banner choice.
You do not need to take any action beyond enabling DNT or GPC in your browser — we read the signal server-side and client-side and act on it automatically.
8. Cookie Retention Periods
Retention periods for each cookie we set are listed in Section 3. In summary:
- Session cookies: deleted when you close your browser.
- __cf_bm: up to 30 minutes.
- cf_clearance: up to 1 year.
- gixodia_locale, gixodia_theme: 1 year.
- gixodia_consent: 12 months (then we re-ask for consent, in line with CNIL / EDPB guidance).
We never retain cookies longer than necessary for the purpose for which they were set.
9. Withdrawing Consent
You may withdraw your consent to optional cookies at any time by:
- Clicking the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of gixodia.com.
- Deleting the gixodia_consent cookie from your browser.
- Enabling the GPC signal in your browser.
- Emailing us at support@gixodia.com and asking us to record your withdrawal.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
10. Cookies on Our Software Products
Our desktop trading bot software (GIX-GOLD, GIX-EURO) does not use browser cookies. It may store local configuration files on your device (license key, bot settings, logs), which are described in our Privacy Policy and EULA. None of this data is transmitted to us without your explicit action (such as submitting a support ticket).
11. Children
Our website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly set cookies on devices of children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data via our website, please contact us immediately at support@gixodia.com.
12. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via a banner on the website or by email. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
